Summary of China’s Science and Technology News-July 23 –

Beijing, July 23 (Xinhua)-The following is a summary of science and technology news published in China.

Trace COVID-19 Origin

China is a senior World Health Organization (NHC) official, with the World Health Organization (WHO) treating the work of tracking the origin of the new coronavirus as a scientific issue, eliminating political interference, and actively and carefully promoting the work of tracking. Said on Thursday.

Zeng Yixin, Deputy Head of NHC, said that what was done in the first stages of origin tracking, especially those done by those who came to clear conclusions, should not be repeated.

Zeng spoke at a press conference on the work to track the origin of the new coronavirus, held by the Beijing National Council Intelligence Service.

He said that what should be done is to track the origins of early cases, molecular epidemiology, and intermediate hosts in multiple countries and regions, based on extensive consultations among WHO member states.

Rocket fairing landing

According to the China Launch Vehicle Technology Academy (CALVT), China has successfully tested technology that can control the landing point of a falling rocket fairing.

According to CALVT, the test was conducted after the Long March 2C rocket was launched on Monday morning.

This test solved the problem of structural collapse of the fairing during re-entry. This is the first time China has landed a fairing with a parachute, laying a solid foundation for a future precisely controlled landing of rocket fairings, CALVT said.

China deployed a large unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on Wednesday to restore telecommunications services in the central state of Henan province, where heavy rains caused havoc.

Developed in China, the Pterosaur-2 HUAV took a 4.5-hour flight to Mihe Township in Gongyi. This is one of the most severely damaged areas in the state. At 6:21 pm, the drone entered an area where communications services were interrupted and began providing stable and continuous mobile signal coverage over an area of approximately 50 square kilometers.

Large UAVs are equipped with electro-optic / infrared pods, synthetic aperture radar, aerial cameras, emergency communications pods, and emergency transmit drop pods. These are all important devices for ensuring performance during missions.
