WKOW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Madison, Wisconsin, is looking for a creative storyteller who knows how to tell memorable sports and news stories. We want a sports journalist who thrives on making a story lead-worthy in a newscast, no matter the content. We cover it all from the Packers, Bucks & Brewers to the Badgers and high school level sports. We don’t need someone who just covers scores and highlights. We want a journalist who can break stories! The successful candidate will be an accomplished storyteller who can create memorable television! You’ll cover the big sports stories when sports are in season, but also cover big news stories the other half of the time. This position also will fill-in anchor on sportscasts. If you can produce compelling local sports & news stories, we’d like to see your work. We’re looking for someone who will shoot, write and edit with a creative flair as well as post content on various platforms including web, mobile and social networks. Strong work ethic, creativity and competitiveness are all necessary. We’re looking for strong communicators, not cliché artists. At least 1 year of full-time broadcast experience is preferred.
This is your opportunity to join an innovative television news organization in the Midwest and to live in one of the most livable cities in America.
