Blue Earth Area’s longtime varsity football head coach Randy Kuechenmeister was announced as the Gatorade Coach of the Week during the Friday, Nov. 13, evening broadcast of WCCO-TV.
The Minnesota Vikings and Gatorade have teamed up to honor a different coach each week during the high school football season. Coaches are chosen based on their contribution on the football field, but more importantly on the impact they make within their community and for their student athletes.
Kuechenmeister is in his 30th year as head coach of the Buccaneers and has compiled a record of 75-31 over the past 10 years.
He has led the team to seven state football tournament appearances since 2006. The Bucs won the State title in 2012 with a perfect 13-0 record. This year BEA has an unblemished record of 6-0.
In addition to being recognized in the media for his achievement, the school’s football program receives Gatorade product for the season and a $1,000 donation on behalf of the Minnesota Vikings.
