Genstler Eye Center announced Lance Eisenbarth, O.D., has joined its team as a doctor of optometry. With more than 12 years experience, Eisenbarth will be responsible for the management of ocular services at the center’s Topeka location. Originally from Silver Lake, Eisenbarth attended Washburn University for his undergraduate studies, followed by training and education at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Eisenbarth is a member of the Kansas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. His specialty training includes LASIK Certification and Scleral Lens Certification. As part of his work in ocular services, he also has expertise in the treatment of diseases, specifically glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration.
The Kansas Democratic Party announced Katie Sullivan has joined its staff as the party’s Finance and Communications Assistant. Sullivan brings a wide variety of experience to the KDP, as she has worked on multiple political campaigns and has served as vice president and president of the Kansas Young Democrats.

Forge Young Talent, Topeka’s young professionals organization, announced Del-Metrius Herron, real estate agent with Keller Williams Realtor Partners LLC, and Justin Moore, principal at Royal Valley USD 337, have assumed the roles of 2021 Forge chair and chair-elect, respectively. These roles support Forge’s leadership team, a volunteer base that leads many of Forge’s «herds,» or subcommittees.

Topeka Presbyterian Manor announced it is a recipient of Pinnacle Quality Insight’s 2021 Customer Experience Award. Each month, TPM gathers real-time survey results to gain a better understanding of residents’ needs and make improvements when necessary. By qualifying for the Pinnacle Customer Experience Award, TPM has satisfied the rigorous demand of scoring in the top 15% of the nation on average over a 12-month period. Health care residents and their families rated TPM in the top 15% in overall satisfaction, dining services, quality of food, meeting individual needs, laundry service, communication, activities, admission process, willingness to recommend to others and overall customer experience. In addition, assisted living residents and their families rated the community highly in overall satisfaction, personal care, response to problems, demonstrating dignity and respect, communication, move-in process, safety and security, willingness to recommend to others and overall customer experience. Pinnacle is a customer satisfaction measurement firm with 25 years of experience in post-acute health care. The firm conducts more than 150,000 phone surveys each year and works with more than 2,500 care providers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Topeka was ranked among the top 20 most popular cities in the U.S. for «Gen Z» renters in 2020, according to a report published recently by RENTCafé, an online listing website for rental properties. Nearly 3 million renter applications were analyzed as part of this study, and 22% were from applicants born during or after 1997. Those in that age group are known as Generation Z, or Gen Z. The oldest of this demographic turned 23 in 2020.
