Several businesses opened their doors in the Bay Area in late 2020. Residents can also expect to see a large gas station open a second location in League City and a Nassau Bay coffee shop relocate down the street, in 2021.

Now open

Absolute Volleyball Academy of Texas opened in the fall at 380 Greene Wing St., Webster. The facility features eight indoor and eight outdoor courts, a physical training center, a pro shop, special viewing areas and more. Originally expected to open in July, the opening was delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic. www.avatexas.com

The Italian Heritage Museum opened at Heritage Park, 1220 Coryell St., League City, in December. The museum, which displays Italian relics, is in the Ghirardi House, which was built in the early 1900s by one of the 12 original Italian families who settled in League City. 281-332-1393. www.butlerlonghornmuseum.com

Emily T. Krone and Company PLLC opened at 3027 Marina Bay Drive, Ste. 370, League City in early October. The practice is a “boutique law firm” of business and commercial real estate attorneys, meeting the needs of clients and transactions left behind by traditional firms, according to its website. 281-471-8411. www.kroneandcopllc.com

Coming soon

League City’s second 7-Eleven location will be opening on the east side at 1210 E. FM 518. A timeline has not been determined. Developers originally proposed a 7-Eleven on the west side of the city, but League City City Council shot it down after neighbors complained about the density of gas stations in the area. www.7-eleven.com

Java Owl Coffee House is relocating from 18021 Upper Bay Road, Houston, to 1354 E. NASA Parkway, Ste. J, Houston, sometime in early 2021. The coffee shop closed its doors at the former location Dec. 19 to prepare for the move, and staff is hoping to complete the transition within a few weeks, according to a Facebook post. 281-957-9814. www.facebook.com/JavaOwlCoffeeHouse
