The Human Resources Associate will report to the Director of Human Resources and will provide administrative support to the Director of HR and Chief Financial Officer.
- Manage onboarding processes including offer letters, new hire paperwork, coordinating various account setups, scheduling first day arrangements
- Complete employment eligibility verification process including e-verify
- Manage employee off-boarding process
- Update and maintain the HR system to accurately reflect employee allocation between cost centers
- PTO tracking
- Manage the library of HR documents and maintain employee records
- Monitor HR law changes and best practices and assist with updating company policies
- Proactively look for creative and innovative ways to improve processes
- Manage freelancer contracting and payment
- Ensure that vendors are properly setup in Concur
- Keep up to date with HR trends and best practices
- Successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an administrative role
- Strong communication skills
- Familiar with database systems and common HR applications
This position is full-time and will ideally be based in our New York City newsroom, although we are open to other locations. Due to COVID-19, our office is currently closed, and we are all working from home until September.
