The Villages Insurance Partners announced last week that Commercial Risk Management (CRM) team member Shane Finley will move from senior advisor lead to CRM sales manager, while Kelly Burrows moves from commercial account manager to CRM senior account manager/team lead. AdventHealth Ocala marks milestone
AdventHealth Ocala announced last week that its cardiologists recently completed their 300th WATCHMAN procedure. «WATCHMAN helps patients who were lifelong users of the blood thinner warfarin stop using the medication,» the hospital said in a news release. «The device is a permanent implant that closes off a part of the heart where blood clots most commonly form and can cause strokes.»

Zero Hour Life Center of Ocala, a recovery community organization specializing in peer recovery supports and services, will have a grand opening ceremony 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 22 at the center, 807 SW Third Ave., Ocala.

Duke Energy and CEP honored at workforce conference
CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion presented Bridging the Gap awards last week to Duke Energy and the Ocala/Metro Chamber and Economic Partnership (CEP.) The awards go to those who go «above and beyond to build the regional workforce by closing gaps in skills, training and opportunity,» according to a CareerSource CLM news release.
In that release, CareerSource CLM CEO Rusty Skinner was quoted as praising Duke and the CEP for their “strong commitment to supporting the talent supply needs of businesses through fostering collaboration and communication between business and education.”
The awards were presented during the State of the Workforce Virtual Conference: Recover, Redesign, Rework, which CareerSource CLM and the Ocala Human Resource Management Association organized.
FBI names official to oversee Ocala office
The FBI has named Gilberto Balli an assistant special agent in charge for the agency’s Jacksonville Division executive management team. Balli will oversee FBI operations in seven Resident Agency (RA) offices: Ocala, Gainesville, Daytona Beach, Tallahassee, Panama City, Fort Walton and Pensacola.
Local Realtors support fair housing
During the April 20 County Commission meeting, Ocala/Marion County Association of REALTORS Executive Darlene Yonce, 2021 association President Gregory Pittas and 2021 association President-Elect Virginia Wright were on hand for a proclamation of April as Fair Housing Act Month in Marion County.
«We are committed to providing fair and equal housing opportunities for everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, family status, disability or national origin,» the association said in a statement. «The Marion County Board of County Commissioners encourages all our residents to support and endorse fair housing in our community.»
2 new staffers at Community Foundation
The Community Foundation for Ocala/Marion County announced last week that Thomas Harrington is the new director of grant services and Jim Hillebrandt is director of donor services.
Harrington «works to connect our community with grants and other resources through identifying and facilitating ways to address a wide array of community needs,» the foundation said in a news release.
Hillebrandt «meets and interacts with potential and current fund holders within the Community Foundation. He helps businesses and individuals establish philanthropic priorities and ways to grow their means of giving back,» the release said.
